Domestic printing, printing equipment, printing equipment import and export dynamics

From January to February 2022, the distribution and growth of domestic printing, printing equipment and printing equipment import and export in the world's major regional markets are: Asia $1.501 billion (4% year-on-year growth), Europe $804 million (16% year-on-year growth), North America $827 million (10% year-on-year growth),  Latin America $139 million (33% yoY), Oceania $123 million (7% YOY) and Africa $111 million (10% YOY).  

 

Monthly import and export trends  

 

In February 2022, the total import and export value of domestic printed matter, printing equipment and printing equipment was 1.323 billion US dollars, down 39% from the previous month and 1% from the previous year.  Among them, the total import and export value of printed matter was $930 million (down 41% from the previous month and up 0% from the previous year), the total import and export value of printing equipment was $287 million (down 35% from the previous month and down 11% from the previous year), and the total import and export value of printing equipment was $106 million (down 31% from the previous month and up 13% from the previous year).  This month, the domestic trade surplus of printing and printing equipment and equipment imports and exports totaled $730 million (down 46% month-on-month and up 1% year on year).

In February 2022, the import amount of domestic printed matter was $157 million, down 26% from the previous month and up 5% from the previous year.  Among them, the import of publications and printed matter was 41.8733 million US dollars (up 15% from the previous month, up 132% from the previous year), the import amount of packaging and printed matter was 8.55001 million US dollars (down 29% from the previous month, down 19% from the previous year), and the import of commercial printed matter was 106 million US dollars (down 34% from the previous month, down 12% from the previous year).  

 

In February 2022, the export value of domestic printed matter was $773 million, down 44% from the previous month and up 0% year on year.  Among them, the export value of publications and printed matter was 103 million US dollars (down 40% from the previous quarter and up 2% from the previous year), the export value of packaged matter was 365 million US dollars (down 46% from the previous quarter and down 5% from the previous year), and the export value of commercial matter was 306 million US dollars (down 42% from the previous quarter and up 5% from the previous year).  

 

Printing equipment  

 

In February 2022, the import of domestic printing equipment was $110 million, down 34% from the previous month and 14% from the previous year.  Among them, pre-press equipment imports were $3.3446 million (up 61% month-on-month and 75% year-on-year), printing equipment imports were $101 million (down 35% month-on-month and 13% year-on-year), and post-press equipment imports were $5.5590 million (down 26% month-on-month and 42% year-on-year).  

 

In February 2022, the export value of domestic printing equipment was $177 million, down 37% from the previous month and 9% from the same period last year.  Among them, the export amount of prepress equipment was 10.5464 million US dollars (down 31% from the previous month and up 3% from the previous year), the export of printing equipment was 101 million US dollars (down 37% from the previous month and down 12% from the previous year), and the export of post-press equipment was 65,906,800 US dollars (down 36% from the previous month and down 6% from the previous year).  

 

Printing equipment  

 

In February 2022, the import amount of domestic printing equipment was 29.886 million US dollars, down 19% month-on-month and 4% year-on-year.  Among them, printing ink imports of 16.607 million US dollars (down 31% from the previous month, down 8% from the previous year), water-based inkjet ink imports of 10.6562 million US dollars (down 4% from the previous month, up 27% from the previous year), offset plate imports of 422,500 US dollars (up 15% from the previous month, down 87% from the previous year),  Flexo printing plate $2,720,700 (sequential growth of 29%, 24% year-on-year growth).  

 

In February 2022, the export value of domestic printing equipment was $75.9821 million, down 35% from the previous month and up 22% year on year.  Among them, printing ink export amount of 8,071,600 DOLLARS (decreased by 50%, year-on-year growth of 7%), water-based inkjet ink export amount of 11,656,700 dollars (decreased by 46%, year-on-year growth of 11%), offset plate export amount of 54.216,900 dollars (decreased by 29%, year-on-year growth of 37%),  Flexo printing plate export amount of $2.037 million (down 15%, down 13%).  

 

Import and export from January to February of the year  

 

In the first two months of 2022, the total value of imports and exports of printed matter, printing equipment and printing equipment was US $3.504 billion, up 9% year on year.  Among them, the total value of printed matter imports and exports was $2.513 billion (up 12% year-on-year), the total value of printing equipment imports and exports was $732 million (down 5% year-on-year), and the total value of printing equipment imports and exports was $259 million (up 27% year-on-year).  During the same period, the trade surplus of domestic printed matter and printing equipment and printing equipment amounted to 2.086 billion US dollars (a year-on-year increase of 28%).

During the same period, the import amount of the main sub-items of relevant printed matter was 47.411,200 US dollars of dictionary book printed matter (7% year-on-year increase), 30.385,300 US dollars of periodical and magazine printed matter (302% year-on-year increase), 269,700 US dollars of children's picture book printed matter (72% year-on-year decrease).  The import of corrugated paper boxes (boxes) is $5.891,800 (down 8% year-on-year), the import of non-corrugated folding paper boxes is $7.294,200 (down 23% year-on-year), the import of paper bags is $6.470,900 (down 28% year-on-year), the import of office printed matter is $24.443 million (up 2% year-on-year),  Ticket printed matter imports were us $172 million (down 15% year-on-year) and other commercial printed matter imports were US $7,137.09 (down 21% year-on-year).  

 

In January-February 2022, domestic print exports amounted to US $2.146 billion (up 16% year-on-year).  Of this, publications exports were $274 million (up 19%), packaged exports $1.042 billion (up 12%), and commercial exports $830 million (up 21%).  

 

During the same period, the main sub-items of related printed matter were exported, including dictionary and book printed matter of usd 165 million (up 21% year-on-year), periodical and magazine printed matter of USD 509,600 (down 67% year-on-year), children's picture book printed matter of USD 108 million (up 18% year-on-year), corrugated paper box (box) of USD 258 million (up 3% year-on-year),  Non-corrugated folding boxes were $317 million (up 6%), paper bags were $279 million (up 29%), office prints were $489 million (up 28%), ticketed prints were $7.3059 million (down 11%), and other commercial prints were $333 million (up 13%).  

 

In January-February 2022, the import and export trade surplus of domestic printed matter was us $1.779 billion (23% year-on-year increase).  

 

Printing equipment  

 

In January-February 2022, the import value of domestic printing equipment was $275 million, down 15% compared with the same period last year.  Of this, pre-press equipment imports were $5,567,600 (down 14% year-on-year), printing equipment imports were $257 million (down 12% year-on-year), and post-press equipment imports were $13,079,100 (down 50% year-on-year).  

 

The main sub-items of import of related equipment are: offset printing press usd 92,136,200 (down 21% year-on-year), gravure printing press USD 5,743,300 (down 31% year-on-year), flexo printing press USD 4,204,700 (up 867% year-on-year), screen printing press USD 9,281,700 (up 45% year-on-year),  Relief printing press $15,900 (down 92% year on year), digital printing press $34.67.40 million (up 3% year on year), printing auxiliary machines and parts $106 million (down 14% year on year), book binding equipment $4.2937 million (down 48% year on year), packaging post-press equipment $1.9876 million (down 56% year on year).  

 

In January-February 2022, the export value of domestic printing equipment was $456 million, up 2% from the same period last year.  Of this, pre-press equipment exports were $25.7763 million (7% yoy), printing equipment exports were $262 million (4% yoY), and post-press equipment exports were $169 million (1% yoY).  

 

The main sub-items of the export of related equipment are: offset printing press export 19.1393 million USD (46% year-on-year increase), gravure printing press export 10.8468 million USD (9% year-on-year increase), flexo printing press export 19.5543 million USD (61% year-on-year increase), screen printing press export 16.050600 million USD (5% year-on-year increase),  The export of relief printing press was $8,875,500 (up 1% year-on-year), digital printing press was $128 million (down 10% year-on-year), printing auxiliars and parts were $474,442,900 (up 34% year-on-year), book binding equipment was $4,369,400 (down 18% year-on-year),  Packaging post-press equipment $99,443 million (24% year-on-year increase).  

 

In January-February 2022, domestic printing equipment import and export trade surplus was $181 million (47% year-on-year growth).  

 

Printing equipment  

 

From January to February 2022, the import amount of domestic printing equipment was 66,778,400 US dollars, down 9% year-on-year.  Among them, black printing ink 292.71 tons, 9.510,200 DOLLARS (8% year-on-year growth), other printing ink 1142.32 tons, 29.92,200 dollars (14% year-on-year decline), water-based inkjet ink 1111.05 tons, 21.736,500 dollars (18% year-on-year growth),  PS offset plate 30,100 square meters, $169,100 (down 12% year-on-year), CTP offset plate 80,600 square meters, $619,200 (down 90% year-on-year), flexo plate 92,900 square meters, $4,823,400 (down 9% year-on-year).  

 

In January-February 2022, the export value of domestic printing equipment was $192 million, up 47% year on year.  Among them, black printing ink 419.97 tons, $2,218,900 (up 9% year on year), other printing ink 4014.65 tons, $20,249,800 (up 40% year on year), water-based inkjet ink 4372.99 tons, $33,074,400 (up 19% year on year),  PS offset plate 7.3045 million square meters, 22.8456 million DOLLARS (year-on-year growth of 29%), CTP offset plate 30.6468 million square meters, 108 million dollars (year-on-year growth of 70%), flexo plate 109,100 square meters, 4.4456 million dollars (year-on-year growth of 1%).  

 

In January-February 2022, China's import and export trade surplus of printing equipment was $126 million (119% year-on-year increase).  

 

This observation  

 

Affected by the Spring Festival holiday, season and other factors, in February 2022, the import and export scale of domestic printed matter, printing equipment and printing equipment fell significantly compared with the previous month.  

 

Excluding seasonal factors and comparing the year-on-year data of February and the cumulative data of January-February, the import and export data of domestic printed matter, printing equipment and printing equipment in January-February 2022 are mainly concerned as follows:  

 

Faster growth in print exports: The simultaneous growth in exports of packaged print (12% yoy), commercial print (21% yoy) and publication print (19% YOy) was the driving force behind the overall rapid growth in domestic print exports.  

 

Relative contraction of printing equipment imports: The main reason for the contraction of printing equipment imports is the offset press (21% year-on-year decline), printing auxiliary machines and parts (14% year-on-year decline) imports.  

 

Printing equipment exports significantly increased: printing equipment exports significantly increased the most important contribution is CTP offset plate exports of exceptional performance (year-on-year growth of 70%).  

 

Compared with the same period of 2021, the top five categories of domestic printed matter, printing equipment and printing equipment import and export grew faster in January-February 2022 as follows:  

 

Imports: flexographic printing machines (+867%), periodicals and magazine printing (+302%), screen printing machines (+45%), other publications (+32%), water-based inkjet ink (+18%);  

 

Exports: CTP offset plate materials (+70%), flexo presses (+61%), offset presses (+46%) other printing inks (+40%), printing auxiliaries and parts (+34%).  

 

During the same period, the top five categories of imports and exports of domestic printed matter, printing equipment and printing equipment shrank as follows:  

 

Import: CTP offset plate material (-90%), children's picture book printed matter (-72%), packaging post-press equipment (-56%), book binding equipment (-48%), other paper packaging containers (-52%);  

 

Exports: periodicals and magazine prints (-67%), book binding equipment (-18%), other publications prints (-12%), ticket prints (-11%), digital presses (-10%).
